History of Verinor 

So are the accounts on the founding of Verinor.  In the first age, elves lived only on the Seven Isles.  From the Seven Isles came seven elves.  2 chose to become mortal and assisted men.  5 remained immortal and dwelled in the Lempe Taures, the Five Forests.
